This course will examine the facts and background of identity theft, IRS examples of tax refund fraud identity theft, recommendations to protect data in your office, and recommendations for clients to prevent identity theft. The course will also provide steps to help victims respond when identity theft occurs.

New IRS Account Security Requirements. At Intuit, the security of our products remains one of our top priorities. We are committed to helping safeguard customer information. For tax year 2016, new industry-wide standards established through the IRS Security Summit process require professional tax software vendors, including Intuit, to validate each individual user’s identity. Intuit is implementing these changes in ProSeries so that upon every program start or launch, all individual users associated with a firm must log in. In order to prepare for this change before the arrival of your tax year 2016 tax product, we encourage you to create login credentials within your MyAccount. This webinar will explain the changes we are making and show you how to set up an account so that you are prepared for the tax year 2016 product release.
