June 2018 Tax and Compliance Deadlines

June marks the official start of summer, a great time to do what you can to stay sharp in the off season. Here’s a list of this month’s important tax and compliance deadlines.

In June, it is recommended that you:

• Review tax law changes for 2018.
• Schedule much-needed R&R.

Key Compliance Dates:

Friday, June 1– Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on May 24-29.

Wednesday, June 6 – Semiweeklydepositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on May 30-June 1.

Friday, June 8 – Semiweeklydepositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on June 2-5.

Monday, June 11– Tipped employees who received $20 or more in tips during May should report them to the employer on Form 4070 (in Publication 1244, Employee’s Daily Record of Tips and Report to Employer).

Wednesday, June 13 – Semiweeklydepositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on June 6-8.

Friday, June 15:

• Monthly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax for May.
• Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid June 9-12.
• Individuals and calendar-year corporations pay second installment of 2018 estimated tax.
• Individuals outside the United States file Form 1040 for 2017. For an automatic four-month extension, file Form 4868, Application for Automatic Extension of Time to File U.S. Individual Income Tax Return.

Wednesday, June 20 – Semiweeklydepositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid June 13-15.

Friday, June 22 – Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid June 16-19.

Wednesday, June 27 – Semiweeklydepositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid June 20-22.

Friday, June 29 – Semiweeklydepositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid June 23-26.
